JOB OVERVIEW
The Store Manager is accountable to the Owner and is the senior manager on the sales floor. He/She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, sales, Assistant Managers and Sales Associates and works to insure the retail sales quotas are being met. He/She must effectively handle all Store Managers tasks and have the knowledge and ability to handle all of the tasks assigned to team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee all store operations including retail sales, range operations, memberships, inventory, staffing, and customer service
· Lead, train, and develop a team of sales associates, range safety officers, and instructors
· Ensure strict compliance with all firearms laws, safety regulations, and range procedures
· Drive sales performance through coaching, merchandising, promotions, and community engagement
· Manage scheduling, payroll budget, performance reviews, and hiring
· Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and local partners
· Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff
· Identifying potential problems and point of friction and working to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and revenue
· Works to maintain and grow the range’s membership base
· Coordinates with the Owner on issues related to strategic retail growth
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years management experience in retail, sporting goods or related field is required for this position
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of firearms, archery, and shooting sports preferred
- Comfortable enforcing safety policies and regulatory compliance
- Sales-driven mindset with a focus on customer experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability and willingness to do some manual labor, service and repairs on equipment and building
- Bachelor Degree preferred but work experience may be considered in lieu of higher education
