Position: Sports Specialist NF-03.

Duties

  • Plan and administer an assigned segment of a sports program, selecting and emphasizing competitive sports activities to be offered.
  • Assist in conducting clinics and seminars to train coaches, officials, and participants.
  • Schedule and publicize tournaments and other sports events.
  • Solicit volunteer and paid services for activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of sports activities program objectives.
  • Develop program plans and requirements.
  • Arrange for necessary supplies, transportation, space, and services to accomplish scheduled sports activities.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card required.
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
  • A one‑year probationary period may be required.
  • Complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check satisfactorily.
  • Complete all pre‑employment checks in accordance with AR 215‑3, para.

  • May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally‑controlled facilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass a medical physical examination.
  • Required to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering, or carrying out a sports program that includes a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.
  • Experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college; planning, teaching, or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games.
  • Experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.
  • An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.
  • The resume must clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualification criteria above.
