Duties

  • Plans and administers an assigned segment of a sports program.
  • Selects and emphasizes competitive sports activities to be offered. Assists in conducting clinics and seminars to train coaches, officials and/or participants.
  • Schedules and publicizes tournaments, and other sports events. Solicits volunteer and paid services for activities
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of sports activities program objectives. Develops program plans and requirements.
  • Arranges for necessary supplies, transportation, space, and services to accomplish scheduled sports activities.

  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities
  • Regular and reoccurring lifting of 45lbs or more.

Standard Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.
    • This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college; planning, teaching or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games.
    • Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.

Allowances and Differentials

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
