Role Description The Sports Education Faculty Member will deliver high-quality teaching in sports education programs, including lectures, workshops, and practical sessions aligned with SAF’s curriculum and international standards. This full-time, on-site role in India involves designing and updating course content, developing learning materials, and assessing learner performance through assignments, projects, and examinations. The faculty member will mentor learners on academic and career pathways in sport, support leadership and youth development initiatives, and contribute to university and institutional partnerships. Responsibilities also include participating in research or knowledge-building projects, engaging with industry and international collaborators, and supporting events, seminars, and outreach activities that promote sports education and culture. The role requires active collaboration with colleagues across programs to ensure a consistent, learner-centered educational experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in sports education, sports science, physical education, or a related field, supported by a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and learner assessment in academic or vocational sports programs.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and facilitate learning in classroom and practical environments, with inclusive and learner-centered approaches.
- Knowledge of international sports education standards, certifications, and pathways, with exposure to global collaborations considered an advantage.
- Ability to mentor learners on academic progression, career development, and leadership in sport, including guidance on certifications and industry opportunities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse learners, colleagues, and external partners.
- Interest in or experience with sports culture, media, storytelling, and promotion of values such as fair play and Olympic ideals.
- Proven ability to work in a structured, on-site institutional setting in India, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet academic timelines.
- Prior teaching, coaching, or academic administration experience in sports or education settings is highly desirable.
