Sales Associate – Sporting Goods/Shoes

The Sales Associate (Sporting Goods/Shoes) works as part of a team to provide outstanding customer service while helping customers find products that meet their needs. This position assists with receiving, stocking, pricing merchandise, and maintaining a clean, organized department environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service

Provide excellent customer service and represent Simpson Hardware and Sports in a positive manner

Greet and assist customers throughout the store

Help customers locate products and provide personalized recommendations

Answer store pages and phone calls promptly and courteously

Maintain strong product knowledge and understanding of store layout

Address customer concerns and communicate unresolved issues to management

Work collaboratively with customers and fellow associates to create a positive shopping experience

Store Operations

Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise in Sporting Goods and Shoes

Maintain back stock and ensure merchandise is properly displayed

Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stock room

Assist with merchandise resets, signage updates, and promotional displays

Support Department Specialists with price changes and special orders

Participate in store meetings and maintain a professional appearance and attitude

Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Retail experience preferred

Shoe sales experience is a plus

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment

Physical Requirements

Standing and walking for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Ability to climb ladders as needed
