Department Summary
This position coordinates the Department of Athletics internal operational areas and all home athletics competitions, events and team practices including, but not limited to, preparation and event management. Organize and coordinate facility setup and provide day-to-day support for all 16 varsity teams.
1. Coordinate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Operations the day-to-day operations for all 16 varsity teams, with a focus primarily on Olympic sports. Collaborate with staff and coaches to coordinate and execute administrative tasks while following university and departmental policies, NCAA and Mid-American Conference bylaws and regulations.
2. Manage necessary setup and conversion of facilities for practices, games and other events. Serve as gameday administrator for Olympic sports, coordinating details for home athletics contests to include: ensuring officials are scheduled for all events, locker room assignments and parking for teams and officials. Provide gameday operational guides for distribution for all visiting teams and officials. Assist with home football, basketball, championships and postseason events.
3. Administer internal scheduling of athletics facilities and events. Collaborates with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sport Operations to coordinate external requests. Maintain facilities activities calendar, communicate effectively with coaches and support units, approve or deny facility requests for specific events and practices and arrange elements such as parking, staffing, and any other services that may be necessary.
4. Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities with building and venue oversight, preseason preparations, repairs and emergency response coordination. Contributes to regular inspections and walkthroughs to determine facility needs, keeping in mind the priorities of student-athletes, coaches, support units, officials and visiting teams as a primary focus.
5. Interview, hire, train and supervise student staff. Delegate, oversee and manage workflow and assignments. Determine staffing needs and levels which include setup, event management, breakdown and cleanup assignments

Position Profile
Maintains athletic equipment and facilities. Duties may include keeping equipment inventory records, providing athletic uniform laundry service, monitoring equipment conditions, repairing equipment, and purchasing new equipment.

Physical Requirements
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Division I FBS experience.

Pay Rate
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials. The targeted salary for this position is $43,888 – $45,000.
