The Sturt Sabres Basketball Club is seeking a passionate and commercially driven Sponsorship & Events Manager to lead and grow our sponsorship program, develop new commercial opportunities, and deliver exceptional events that strengthen our connection with members, partners, and the wider community.
Sturt Sabres has a proud history of developing athletes, fostering community engagement, and delivering high-quality basketball programs across all levels of the game. As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone who can help elevate our commercial partnerships and create memorable experiences for our players, members, sponsors, and supporters.
About the Role
Reporting to the Club Secretary, you will be responsible for:
✅ Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing sponsors and commercial partners
✅ Securing new sponsorship and partnership opportunities
✅ Developing sponsorship proposals and commercial growth initiatives
✅ Managing sponsor benefits, activations, and reporting
✅ Planning and delivering major Club events, including:
- NBL1 Season Launch
- Junior & Senior Presentation Nights
- Fundraising Events
- Community Events
- Club Recognition Functions
✅ Coordinating the commercial and entertainment aspects of NBL1 home games
✅ Supporting marketing and communications activities that increase sponsor exposure and member engagement
✅ Driving innovative ideas that strengthen Club revenue, culture, and community impact

This position may be offered on either a part-time basis (approximately 3 days per week) or full-time basis, depending on the experience, capability, and availability of the successful applicant. We are open to tailoring the role to suit the right person and welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds.

You may have experience in:
✔ Sponsorship or partnership management
✔ Business development or sales
✔ Event management
✔ Marketing and stakeholder engagement
✔ Community sport, membership organisations, or not-for-profit environments
You will be relationship-focused, highly organised, commercially minded, and passionate about creating positive experiences that help sporting organisations thrive.
