Sourcing Manager

Purpose

This role will lead and develop a sound strategic sourcing plan specifically designed to address our corporate objectives and aggressive own brand growth targets. You will architect the roadmap for our Own Brad expansion, identifying high-potential opportunities in Sports and Camping, Travelgoods, Stationery, Crafts and Home Office.

What you'll do

  • Aggressive Own Brand Strategy: Drive the end-to-end roadmap for Own Brand development. You are responsible for identifying market gaps and translating them into quality products that create value that resonate with Australia and New Zealand customers.
  • NPD & Critical Path Mastery: Oversee the New Product Development (NPD) cycle with clinical precision. You will enforce strict adherence to the critical path to guarantee on-time delivery, ensuring consistent product availability for our stores and our customers,
  • Customer-First Quality Excellence: Partner closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure every product exceeds the expectations of our Australia and New Zealand customers.
  • COGS & Margin Protection: Proactively lead aggressive cost-saving initiatives and product re-engineering, securing the best possible margins through comprehensive tender management and negotiation.
  • Supplier Rationalization & Consolidation: Strategically expand our supplier base to support growth while leading a disciplined rationalization program. You will ensure we maintain a consolidated, high-leverage partnership network that optimises performance.
  • Country of Origin (COO) Diversification: Execute a robust diversification strategy to mitigate supply chain risk. You will proactively scout and qualify new manufacturing hubs across Southeast Asia and other emerging markets to ensure a resilient and cost-effective footprint.
  • Direct Reporting: Direct reporting to the Senior Category Manager in the Hong Kong office.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 10 years experience in sourcing across a variety of general merchandise items, especially in Sports and Camping, Travelgoods, Nursery, Stationery, Crafts and Home Office.
  • Experience for the Australian market, although UK, USA and EU will be considered
  • A track record of delivering competitive advantage in a customer focused industry
  • An ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
  • Strategic thinking with drive and passion
  • An ability to influence, negotiate and engage stakeholders in English and Mandarin.
  • Good communication, presentation and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and frequent travel to South-east Asia Countries and overseas when required
