About the role

Make is an AI-first digital agency in East London. We're hiring a Social Media Manager to join our team on an immediate basis, with a specific focus on one of sport's biggest events in 2026: the FIFA World Cup.

This is a specialist, fast-paced role. You'll be managing social output across the tournament for client accounts, creating content that resonates with genuine fans and moves quickly when the moments that matter happen. You'll be across the draw, the fixtures, the narratives, the upsets, and you'll know how to turn them into content that performs. Once the World Cup wraps, the focus shifts to Premier League and ongoing football content, so a deep knowledge of the domestic game matters just as much as the tournament itself.

We're an AI-first agency. That means using AI tools isn't optional. Everyone at Make uses them, experiments with them and actively looks for ways to work smarter with them.

What we're looking for

  • A genuine, demonstrable interest in sport, particularly football, not just passing awareness, but the kind of knowledge that means you'll already know the World Cup draw before we brief you on it
  • 3+ years in a digital, social or creative agency
  • 4+ years of social media experience working with brands
  • Proven ability to produce reactive, real-time social content around live sport or events
  • Experience with creative briefing, content planning, performance reporting and campaign management
  • Comfortable with Asana and Sprout Social
  • Experience presenting to clients and leading calls confidently
  • Good understanding of account financials and profitability
  • Actively using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Midjourney or similar) in day-to-day work

What you'll be doing

  • Leading social content planning and scheduling for clients across the World Cup, including reactive content during live tournament moments, with a longer-term focus on Premier League and football content beyond the tournament
  • Using AI tools to speed up content ideation, copywriting, briefing and reporting
  • Managing social performance reporting and delivering insight to clients, not data dumps, but stories that inform decisions
  • Working closely with the Social Strategy Lead on platform and campaign strategy
  • Writing clear briefs for design and paid media teams
  • Leading client communication, managing weekly check-ins and keeping relationships strong under tournament pressure
  • Managing workflows across the team in Asana

What great looks like

You're the person who already follows the Group Stage draw the night it happens. You know the Premier League fixture calendar, the storylines running through the season and what a reactive post needs to say the moment a result lands.

You're also ahead of the curve on AI, not just aware of it, but using it to move faster and bring sharper thinking to clients.

Things we look for in all Makers

  • AI-curious and proactive about experimenting with new tools
  • Strong, clear communicator with the confidence to challenge
  • A team player who gets work over the line
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-moving environment

Benefits

  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • £1,000 personal development budget per year
  • Monthly wellbeing allowance
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Hybrid flexible working
  • Work from anywhere for one month per year
