Snowsports Director

This is not your typical Ski & Snowboard School Director position; PSIA-AASI certification and years of experience as an instructor are wonderful, but not the focus of our search. What we desire most is a proven leader capable of motivating, training, and guiding a department of 120+ individuals. It’s the soft skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, adaptability, and management that matter most to us.

Summary: Primary role is to manage the Ski & Snowboard School, provide leadership to supervisors and instructors, and interact with guests. Working closely with other departments and supporting the overall Bromley goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, schedule and record time and other employment records of employees related to Ski School
• Ensure proper methods of instruction are used
• Ensure guests are given the best care possible
• Design and implement new programs to keep the department current and forward thinking
• Oversee snowsports operations, establish a professional environment
• Oversee safety training, compliance, and awareness for all snowsports staff
• Directly monitor all snowsports programs
• Develop and manage snowsports budget
• Provide regular communication with staff and other departments
• Ensure the completion of daily/weekly safety checklists
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

• PSIA Level III certified
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint are a must.
• Must be organized and a self-starter
• Must have strong leadership skills
• Must be available full time 6 days a week during winter season, weekends and holidays included
• Maintain a caring and sensitive attitude towards guest and employees
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible in response to changing assignments and working in a fast paced environment
• Punctual and prepared to perform work duties on time
• Must maintain personal appearance in accordance with Bromley standards

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises a department of 120+ employees. Hiring, training, scheduling, and leading this team is a critical part of the responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, this is a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, mail machines, and fax machines. Outdoors, this position operates on and off snow.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically active role requiring several hours of standing and working indoors and outdoors; on and off snow. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs over uneven terrain.
