Seasonal Recreation Aide (Part-Time/No Benefits)

Join the City of South Jordan as a Part-Time Seasonal Recreation Aide!

We are looking for outgoing and energetic individuals with a passion for community recreation. Spend most of your hours outdoors assisting our active recreation team with a wide range of programs and events. Our variety of programs will get you involved in officiating youth soccer games, recording softball statistics, assisting with our SoJo Race Series and supporting our athletic camps. Get involved with our Outdoor Recreation programs and teach kids to fish, shoot archery, and assist in our youth Ranger Camps. Our recreation department is always expanding as we continue to bring new, exciting, and innovative programs to our community. Seasonal positions end in October. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Program specific job duties include:

• 
  Youth Soccer Programming: Set up soccer fields before games, assist teams during games, referee soccer games, take down soccer equipment at the conclusion of games. Assist in maintaining soccer equipment.
• 
  SoJo Race Series: Assist with our races throughout the year. Assist with race prep. Set up before each race, assist participants at the registration table, assist runners on the route, assist at aide stations, hand out medals and prizes, and assist with race take down.
• 
  SoJo Outdoor Recreation: Assist with our variety of outdoor recreation youth, family and adult programming. Teach all ages how to fish. Help hand out fishing equipment. Assist with our archery programs. Teach all ages the basics of archery. Help maintain archery equipment. Assist with our SoJo Ranger Camps. Assist with a group of kids as we teach them various outdoor skills.

  SoJo Athletic Camps: Assist with our variety of active recreation camps. Help with camp set up and take down. Help mentor kids at athletic games and activities

Who You Are

• At least 16 years of age.
• Interested in recreation, sports, outdoor activities, or community programs.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
