Job Summary
Under general supervision, the MWR Technician – Score/Timekeeper coordinates activities required to operate Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facilities
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- A good understanding of sports scoring, familiar with the rules of the sport they are working.
- Ability to multi task; scoring and/ or run the clock as needed.
- Have attention to details; time, play, score, etc.
- Ability to focus; accurately record a games score in the score book and on the scoreboard.
- Scorekeepers maintain the official team rosters of eligible players and substitutes.
- Before a game begins, a score/timekeeper helps to prepare the facility for the game.
- Clean and set up equipment, including the scoreboard, and tests the equipment to make sure it works properly.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- CPR and first aid certification is preferred
- Knowledge of exercise science, health and fitness
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience involving the coordination of organized team sports, recreation club activities, and social event scheduling. MWR armed forces experience preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
