Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated School Year Youth Development Professional to inspire and guide youth during the school year. In this role, you will create a safe, inclusive environment where children and teens can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your enthusiasm will help foster positive growth and development through dynamic activities and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging youth programs that promote education, character building, health, arts, sports, and recreation.
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful environment.
  • Support children with special needs by implementing inclusive activities aligned with individual education plans.
  • Ensure safety by following first aid protocols and maintaining a clean, hazard-free space; operate AEDs and perform CPR when necessary.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community partners to support each child’s development journey.
  • Facilitate tutoring sessions or educational activities that enhance childhood development and early learning skills.
  • Plan and execute camp-style activities during after-school hours or special events to foster teamwork and leadership.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, or youth program settings.
  • Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols.
  • Background in special education or experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is a plus.
  • Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or camp activities is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children and adolescents in a nurturing manner.
  • Previous involvement in youth programs teaching or tutoring enhances your candidacy for this role.
