Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic School Age Group Leader to join our team! In this role, you will lead and supervise children in our school-age program, creating a fun, safe, and educational atmosphere. Your enthusiasm and leadership will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.
Duties
- Prepare for and Implement engaging activities tailored to school-age children that promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Supervise children on fieldtrips with an assistant to support you.
- Teach bible verses and recite the Lord’s Prayer daily
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management strategies and clear expectations
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and individual needs, including those requiring special education support
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to promote a collaborative community atmosphere
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and developmental progress
- Support children’s interests in areas such as sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities
- Some Housekeeping and food service duties in the classroom
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles is essential
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in behavior management or special education is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead activities that foster early childhood education and social skills development
- Experience working with children with diverse needs or in inclusive environments will be advantageous
