Camp Laurel South is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Sailing Instructors to join our waterfront team for Summer 2026. As a Sailing Instructor/Cabin Counselor, you’ll teach sailing skills, foster confidence and independence in campers, and become an integral part of our vibrant camp community.
Responsibilities
- Teach sailing lessons to campers of varying ages and skill levels
- Ensure a safe, fun, and engaging waterfront environment
- Provide instruction in Sunfish, Hobie Cats, and other sailing craft
- Supervise and mentor campers throughout the day and in a residential cabin setting
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Assist with waterfront operations, equipment maintenance, and activity setup
- Serve as a positive role model and help create an exceptional camp experience
Qualifications
- Sailing experience required
- US Sailing certification or instructor experience preferred, but not required
- Experience working with children, coaching, teaching, or mentoring is a plus
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to thrive in an active, outdoor environment
