POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, the Regional Sales Manager – Northeast is responsible for managing, developing, and growing Bowtech’s dealer network and sales performance throughout the Northeast United States. This position serves as the primary sales representative and business partner for dealers within the assigned territory and is responsible for driving sales growth across Bowtech, Diamond, and Black Gold product lines.
The Regional Sales Manager acts as the face of the company within the territory and is responsible for building strong dealer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, supporting new product launches, conducting sales presentations, forecasting demand, supporting dealer development, and coordinating cross-functional support activities. This role serves as a critical link between dealers and Bowtech’s internal teams including Customer Service, Warranty, Marketing, Operations, Product Development, and Finance.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of compound bows, archery equipment, hunting products, and the dealer channel, along with a proven track record of sales success, relationship management, and territory development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Territory Management and Dealer Development
- Serve as the primary sales representative and relationship manager for all dealers within the assigned Northeast territory.
- Develop and execute territory sales strategies designed to increase sales, market share, dealer engagement, and brand presence.
- Maintain regular communication with existing dealers through phone, email, virtual meetings, and in-person visits.
- Conduct dealer visits throughout the territory to strengthen relationships, identify opportunities, provide training, and support business growth.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of dealer businesses, market conditions, competitive pressures, and growth opportunities.
- Identify and recruit qualified new dealers that align with Bowtech’s dealer network strategy.
- Manage dealer onboarding activities including account setup, product training, sales support, and business development planning.
- Work collaboratively with dealers to develop annual sales plans and growth strategies.
- Monitor dealer performance and proactively address challenges affecting business growth.
- Ensure dealer compliance with company programs, policies, and sales initiatives.
Sales Growth and Revenue Generation
- Drive sales growth across Bowtech, Diamond, and Black Gold product lines.
- Develop strategic sales plans to maximize territory performance and dealer success.
- Identify opportunities to increase dealer inventory commitments, preseason participation, and overall product penetration.
- Promote new products, accessories, replacement parts, and dealer programs.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions.
- Support seasonal sales initiatives, promotional campaigns, and product launches.
- Monitor competitive activity and communicate market intelligence to leadership.
- Assist dealers in identifying opportunities to increase consumer engagement and sales performance.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives, revenue targets, and growth expectations.
Forecasting, Market Analysis, and Business Planning
- Assist with territory forecasting, demand planning, and sales projections.
- Analyze dealer ordering trends, inventory levels, preseason participation, and market conditions.
- Provide accurate territory forecasts to support inventory planning and manufacturing operations.
- Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for increased sales and market penetration.
- Utilize Microsoft Power BI and other reporting tools to support territory management and forecasting efforts.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and consumer purchasing behaviors.
- Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Participate in annual sales planning, budgeting, and business review activities.
Dealer Support and Customer Experience
- Serve as the primary escalation point for dealer concerns and business issues.
- Act as an intermediary between dealers and internal departments to ensure exceptional customer service and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Warranty teams to assist dealers with product concerns, warranty claims, service requests, and replacement part needs.
- Support dealer education regarding product features, technical information, warranty processes, and service procedures.
- Ensure timely communication and resolution of dealer concerns.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach while building strong long-term business relationships.
- Assist dealers with merchandising, product placement, and retail presentation strategies.
Account Management and Administrative Responsibilities
- Support new account setup and dealer onboarding activities.
- Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams regarding dealer credit applications, credit limits, payment terms, and account maintenance.
- Assist dealers with account administration, purchasing processes, and business development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate account records and customer information.
- Document dealer interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and sales activities within company systems.
- Ensure territory information remains current and accurate.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and account reviews as requested.
Product Development and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Gather dealer feedback regarding products, features, market trends, and customer preferences.
- Provide insights and recommendations to Product Management and Engineering teams.
- Participate in new product development discussions and market validation efforts.
- Support product testing, field evaluations, and launch planning activities when requested.
- Communicate dealer and consumer feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with product positioning, pricing discussions, and go-to-market strategies.
Trade Shows, Events, and Industry Engagement
- Represent Bowtech, Diamond, and Black Gold at industry trade shows, dealer events, consumer events, tournaments, competitions, and sales meetings.
- Conduct product demonstrations and dealer training sessions.
- Support new product launches and promotional activities at events.
- Build relationships with dealers, industry influencers, competitive shooters, and hunting communities.
- Maintain a strong presence within the archery and bowhunting industry.
- Travel extensively throughout the territory to support business objectives.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate forecasts, sales reports, and account documentation.
- Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and company guidelines.
- Maintain a professional image and represent company values at all times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the sales organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
CROSS-TRAINING AND BRAND SUPPORT
- Support sales initiatives across all Bowtech brands and product categories.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Bowtech, Diamond, and Black Gold products, technologies, accessories, and replacement parts.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Warranty, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams.
- Assist with dealer programs, promotional campaigns, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Support national sales meetings, training programs, and special projects.
- Participate in cross-functional business improvement efforts.
- Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or related field.
- Experience within the archery, hunting, outdoor, sporting goods, or manufacturing industries.
- Experience managing dealer networks or independent retail accounts.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Power BI for sales reporting and territory analysis.
- Experience with forecasting, sales planning, and territory management.
- Experience presenting products and conducting dealer training programs.
- Established relationships within the archery or hunting industries preferred.
- Passion for archery, bowhunting, and the outdoor lifestyle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years of sales, territory management, account management, dealer development, or related business experience.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and business objectives.
- Strong understanding of dealer sales channels and relationship management.
- Experience supporting forecasting, territory planning, and sales analysis activities.
- Strong business development, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience utilizing CRM, ERP, or sales management systems
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong customer service mindset and commitment to building long-term business relationships.
- Extensive knowledge of compound bows, archery equipment, accessories, and the archery industry required.
- Passion for archery and/or bowhunting required.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory and attend industry events nationwide.
