Recreation Assistant; Water Safety Instructor NF Jobs in Waipahu, USA at Obsolete Site
Position: Recreation Assistant (Water Safety Instructor) NF-02.
Responsibilities
- Acts as water safety instructor, managing all swimming lessons and teaching when scheduled at the assigned aquatics facility.
- Instructs all levels of swimming, including front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.
- Teaches students from infant through adults and introduces safety and survival skills appropriate to each level.
- Works with lifeguards to ensure lesson safety at all times.
- Develops swim program according to students’ abilities and promotes students to higher levels as skills improve.
Requirements
- Direct deposit and social security card required.
- Must meet all qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
- A one‑year probationary period may be required.
- Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment checks per AR 215‑3, para.
2, including a Tier 1 background investigation. - May also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally‑controlled facilities.
- Scheduled hours will vary; incumbent must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Additional background checks may be required if the incumbent has regular and recurring contact with children; all certifications must be kept current.
Qualifications
- Resumes must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Work experience related to the duties described above, plus possession of the following certificates:
- Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- First Aid Certification (issued by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard, or other nationally recognized agencies)
- Highly desirable Lifeguard Certification
- Candidates possessing additional relevant qualifications will be considered highly preferred or best qualified.
Benefits
- This job is part of a pay‑banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
- Non‑foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
