JThe PSA Princeton Boys’ & Girls’ Director is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and
success of the boys’ and girls’ competitive programs within the PSA Princeton region. This leadership
position oversees player development, coach development, team performance, recruitment,
communication, and operational excellence while working collaboratively with the Executive Director,
Director of Club Development, and Age Group Coordinators.
The Director is expected to continually improve the quality of our players, teams, coaches, and overall
member experience while ensuring the club’s philosophy and standards are consistently implemented
throughout the region.
Essential Job responsibilities.
Leadership & Program Development
- Work closely with the PSA Princeton Executive Director and Director of Club Development to
lead the regional program.
- Provide overall leadership for all boys’ and girls’ teams within the PSA Princeton region.
- Oversee the implementation of the club’s age-specific player development curriculum.
- Review existing programming and recommend improvements, enhancements, or new initiatives.
- Promote and reinforce the club’s philosophy while fostering a lifelong love of the game in every
player.
- Represent PSA Princeton professionally within the community and serve as a positive
ambassador for the club.
- Support the continued growth of club membership through the delivery of high-quality
programming.
Team Management & Player Development
- Oversee annual team formations in collaboration with Age Group Coordinators, ensuring roster
requirements are met.
- Assist coaches with player recruitment, evaluations, and registrations.
- Lead player recruitment initiatives for future seasons and tryouts.
- Review player evaluations alongside coaching staff and Age Group Coordinators.
- Work with coaches to develop season plans, including league, tournament, and player
development objectives.
- Ensure coaches maintain knowledge of local competition and the top players within each age
group.
- Conduct formal team evaluations twice annually (Fall and Winter), providing each coach with
written and verbal feedback.
- Hold regular review meetings with coaches to evaluate team progress, identify challenges, and
proactively address concerns.
Coach Leadership & Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop coaching staff.
- Review coaching assignments to ensure coaches are the best fit for each team environment.
- Recommend coaching changes or staffing improvements when appropriate.
- Conduct regular coaches’ meetings to communicate club initiatives, review team progress, and
maintain consistent coaching standards.
- Work with coaches and Age Group Coordinators to resolve team-related concerns or conflicts.
- Ensure coaches fulfill all league, tournament, and club responsibilities.
Operations & Scheduling
- Assist the Director of Club Development in creating seasonal training schedules.
- Coordinate pre-season team meetings with coaches and families.
- Oversee the regional home game schedule and ensure games are scheduled within available
field inventory.
- Coordinate with the Director of Club Development when additional field space is required for
State Cup matches or other programming.
- Ensure weekly referee requests are submitted to the appropriate assignor.
- Complete league and tournament registrations for all teams each season.
- Ensure coaches do not have scheduling conflicts during tournaments.
- Review tournament participation and performance to determine appropriate future event
selection.
Communication & Member Experience
- Maintain regular communication with coaching staff through meetings and ongoing support.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with club members regarding team updates, club
initiatives, and program developments.
- Organize parent education sessions as needed to communicate club philosophy, curriculum,
player pathways, and expectations.
Facilities & Club Operations
- Assist in overseeing the maintenance and management of PSA facilities and equipment, including
goals, nets, corner flags, tents, light towers, and other club assets.
- Coordinate with NSG Facility Management to Arrange for Light Tower refueling.
- Work collaboratively with club leadership to ensure facilities are safe, organized, and prepared
for training and competition.
- Build relationships with local Athletic Directors and Facility Management for additional facility
rental opportunities
General Leadership
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and integrity in all interactions.
- Lead by example while maintaining the highest standards expected of a PSA Princeton leader.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Club Development
in support of club operations.
Additional Responsibilities
The responsibilities outlined above are intended to describe the primary duties and expectations of
the PSA Princeton Boys’ & Girls’ Director. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of every task
or responsibility associated with the role.
As a senior leadership position within the club, the Director is expected to demonstrate flexibility,
initiative, and a team-first approach by undertaking additional duties and responsibilities as
reasonably required to support the ongoing operation, growth, and success of PSA Princeton. This
may include assisting with club events, special projects, operational needs, staffing support,
member relations, or other responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Club
Development.
The Director is expected to proactively identify areas where support is needed and take ownership
in helping ensure the smooth, efficient, and professional operation of the club at all times.
Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
