Job Context
- The Product Developer will be accountable for working closely with the team and ensuring effective follow up from product development and sampling stage till shipment ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely dispatch in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing product development, commercialization, working directly with suppliers to turn prototypes into production-ready products.
- Source materials (synthetics, leather, mesh, rubber compounds, trims, tooling -lasts, soles) and develop technical solutions to optimize designs, reduce costs, and improve product manufacturability.
- Communicate all products, material ideas and issues between factory and overseas team. Advice on construction methods, materials, components, and costing, with expertise in Outsole mold, IMEVA slide mold, and Flip-flop sheet molds, as well as the production processes for ladies’ boot, WP shoes/boots, sandals, slides, flip-flops, sports, and sports shoes.
- Drive margin improvement by negotiating raw material prices and optimizing construction methods without compromising quality.
- Manage material or complete shoe testing to ensure compliance with global safety and durability standards.
- Maintain Time & Action (T&A) calendars to ensure on-time delivery of samples and approvals. From initial concept to the finished product, including testing for quality.
- Collaborate with production and QA teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Ability to analyze market trends and customer demands
- Manage a smooth and workable time and action plan with the customer
- Manage a smooth workable relationship with current factories to ensure smooth execution of orders as well as source and develop newer factory base
- Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc)
- Graduate in Footwear Engineering or relevant degree from a well reputed institute.
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 6 year(s)
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):Garments,Buying House
Additional Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5 to 6 years of experience in footwear product development, specifically in Sports or Athleisure categories.
- Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of outsole/midsole molding, lasting methods, and upper stitching techniques.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop (for spec sheets and design), MS Office proficiency (word, excel, PowerPoint, CAD)
- Experience with costing sheets and vendor negotiation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
- Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
- Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines
