Overview
We have taught private 1 on 1 swimming lessons in Kaysville since 2010! Join our dynamic team as a Private Swimming Instructor and inspire individuals of all ages to develop their swimming skills, confidence, and safety in the water! This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver personalized, engaging, and effective swimming lessons tailored to each student’s needs. As a key member of our aquatic education program, you will foster a positive learning environment that encourages progress, enjoyment, and lifelong water safety awareness. Your expertise in swimming, sports coaching, and child development will help students achieve their goals while having fun in a safe setting.
Contract length and hours
- Our busy season starts on May 25th and goes through July 31st. 10 weeks! Additional 2-3 weeks in August is optional and limited.
- We need instructors who are available Monday-Friday for at least two thirds of the summer. At least 7 of our 10 busy weeks. Training is on 2 Saturdays in May for a couple hours each training.
- The average shift length is 4 hours per day (sometimes 2-6 hours a day is an option)
- Most shifts are in the morning, we have one afternoon/early evening shift
- Great shift for high school/college students who want a fun and consistent summer job year to year!
Responsibilities
- We look for reliable, confident and positive instructors who love to be in the water and work with children!
- Deliver customized private swimming lessons for individuals of various ages and skill levels
- Assess each student’s abilities and hold tailored lessons to promote skill development and water safety
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, breathing methods, and safety procedures with enthusiasm and clarity
- Monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to motivate improvement
- Maintain a safe aquatic environment by enforcing water safety rules and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss progress, set goals, and address any concerns
Experience
- Ability to swim and interact with children/adults in a confident manner.
- Experience working with children or students in a childcare or educational setting is great but not required. Same with lifeguarding experience!
- Demonstrated ability to teach swimming confidently while ensuring safety at all times
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
Pay: $12.00 – $16.00 per hour
