Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and janitorial tasks across the store, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain a spotless environment.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers to ensure floors are polished and well-maintained.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, equipment, and waste with proper safety practices to prevent injury.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and ensuring safety protocols are followed throughout the store.
- Support industrial cleaning efforts when necessary, including specialized sanitation procedures for high-traffic or high-touch areas.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in all areas of the store, including storage rooms, restrooms, and customer service zones.
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services within retail or commercial environments. – Preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and the operation of cleaning equipment like floor buffers.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following chemical handling safety procedures. – Preferred, but not required.
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques. – Preferred, but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills to assist staff or customers when needed during maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or industrial cleaning operations. – Preferred, but not required.
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols while performing cleaning duties or operating machinery.
