Job Opportunities
Pool Attendants perform a wide variety of tasks that directly relate to the safety and well‑being of swimmers, both in and around the pool area, and indirect responsibilities and other duties, as assigned to ensure a positive public‑relations image and proper facility and park appearance. Primary roles are to dispatch slide users safely, maintain cleanliness of the pool area, and check‑in pool pass holders at the check‑in counter.

Functions / Typical Tasks
To include, but not limited to:
- Administer First-Aid and CPR when needed and report all serious accidents to designated supervisor on duty;
- Supervision and constant surveillance of patrons during pool hours and special events;
- Knowledge of emergency procedures;
- Knowledge of pool rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Enforcing the rules and regulations and rendering appropriate and fair disciplinary measures when necessary;
- Ability to lift 50 lbs;
- Assisting guests to proper first aid, and completing necessary forms;
- Punctuality of all assigned shifts and duties by reporting to work fifteen (15) minutes prior to scheduled start time;
- Relaying problem situations to the Aquatics Coordinator or Assistant Aquatics Coordinator;
- Act in a professional manner at all times;
- Maintain a good working relationship with staff members, maintenance personnel, administrative personnel and pool patrons;
- Provide high quality customer service;
- Attend staff meetings and in‑service trainings as required;
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
Pursue job responsibilities in a professional and mature manner and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with pool guests, co‑workers and facility management in a positive manner. Willingness to promote the Thornton Park complex and its related programs.
Education & Experience
- Minimum age of 15 years old
- Current certification in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED, required within first 30 days of employment
