Duties
- Lead group pickleball clinics and individual coaching sessions for players of varying ages and abilities
- Demonstrate proper techniques, rules, and strategies to enhance players’ skills and understanding of the game
- Develop tailored lesson plans that cater to different skill levels and learning styles
- Foster a positive, energetic atmosphere that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun
- Monitor safety on the courts, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety guidelines
- Engage with participants to promote health, fitness, and enjoyment of pickleball as a lifelong activity
- Collaborate with other recreation staff to organize tournaments, special events, or themed clinics
Experience
- Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education is highly desirable
- Background in pickleball or similar racquet sports preferred; certification is a plus
- Lifeguard experience or familiarity with water safety is beneficial but not required
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings enhances your ability to connect with younger participants
- Knowledge of martial arts such as Karate or Judo can contribute to understanding movement fundamentals and discipline
- Proven ability to manage behavior effectively in group settings and create an inclusive environment
- Strong communication skills with a passion for motivating others to achieve their best
