Responsibilities
- Support physical therapists by preparing treatment rooms and assisting with patient setup for therapy sessions
- Help facilitate patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories and explaining procedures
- Assist patients with exercises and mobility activities under supervision, ensuring safety and proper technique
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment, treatment areas, and supplies
- Monitor patient progress during sessions, report observations to therapists, and document relevant information accurately
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, offering encouragement, and ensuring comfort throughout treatments
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating with other healthcare team members
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospital or clinical settings is highly preferred, especially in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation environments
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and acute care practices is essential
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care with a focus on geriatrics, orthopedics, or post-acute care is advantageous
- Strong understanding of hospital medicine principles and experience working in sub-acute or outpatient clinics is desirable
- Excellent communication skills to effectively support patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining a proactive approach to patient safety and comfort
- Prior exposure to inpatient or hospital environments will be considered a plus
