Responsibilities
- Assists members on the proper use of exercise equipment.
- Gives sound health and fitness training and advice to members/clients.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Offers and provides spotting to members.
- Provides general maintenance and organization to the exercise area and equipment.
- Provides a safe, clean area for members to exercise.
- Maintains current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Stays current with the latest safety information and research in the fitness industry.
- Notifies supervisor of any damaged equipment or shortages.
- Wears appropriate exercise attire and footwear.
- Arrives five minutes prior to the appointment start.
- Motivates and encourages participants with positive feedback.
- Executes Branch emergency plan as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment / Physical and Mental Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to conduct guest tours
- Ability to read, interpret and communicate information
- Ability to type proficiently and work in front of a computer screen
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certified.
- Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization.
