Perfusionist – Cardiovascular Operating Room – FT

Responsibilities:

• Job responsibilities include those listed in the competency document.
• Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Provide clinical services as requested by a physician during open heart surgery and other procedures which may utilize but not limited to extracorporeal circulation, cell saver, autologous blood component separation, operation of POC blood gas analyzer, intra-aortic balloon augmentation, and related monitoring.
• Participate in quality improvement measures as identified.
• Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
• Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff by assuming duties within or out of the sterile field as assigned
• Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when working around or handling hazardous substances, including blood or bodily fluids.
• Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings.
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science
• Completion of Accredited School of Perfusion
• Current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or Board Eligible
• BLS
