The City of Nanaimo is looking for 24 temporary, part-time Recreation Assistants II to work in Arenas. You will assist in organizing recreational activities, help with the Arena Skate Shop’s operations, and engage with the public during skating sessions. Ideal candidates have an interest in community service, and possess the required First Aid and CPR certification.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist staff with organizing ice and dry recreation events
• Prepare equipment and materials for public skating sessions
• Operate the Arena Skate Shop under supervision
• Engage with the public in a friendly manner
• Support senior staff with daily operations
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 years
• Valid Emergency or Standard First Aid and CPR “C” certificate
• Interest in recreation or community service
• Relevant volunteer or employment experience
• Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
