Join the City of Markham’s Recreation Department as a part-time Aquafit Instructor. Lead innovative Aqua fitness classes that cater to diverse ages and abilities at Thornhill Community Centre and Thornlea Pool.
This role focuses on planning and instructing Aquafit sessions while ensuring a safe and engaging environment. As an Aquafit Instructor, you’ll motivate participants to reach their fitness goals and accommodate various fitness levels. Your duties also involve training and supervising individuals of different ages, ensuring that everyone feels included and valued in the program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and supervise Aqua fitness classes
• Use innovative teaching strategies for success
• Observe and adjust programs based on participant needs
• Conduct mandatory staff training and meetings
• Ensure safety procedures and guidelines are followed
Requirements:
• Minimum age of 16 years for employment
• Current Lifesaving Society Standard First Aid
• Water
ART Fitness Shallow & Deep Instructor Certification
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent leadership and team collaboration abilities
