Duties
- Supervise children during afternoon extended care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Assist with homework support, tutoring, or educational games to reinforce learning concepts
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed according to first aid and emergency procedures
- Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding children’s progress or any concerns
- Support special education needs by adapting activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order in a lively environment
- Knowledge of first aid protocols, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures
- Experience working with children in daycare, camp settings, or youth programs
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development principles
- Ability to engage children through creative activities such as theater, sports coaching, or arts and crafts
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and team members
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and positive behavior management techniques
- Prior experience in tutoring or teaching young children is highly desirable

Holy Redeemer Catholic School, a PK-8 twice-recognized National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in Johns Creek, is seeking aftercare assistants for the 2026 – 2027 school year. Prior experience in a school setting is preferred. This is a part-time position in the afternoon hours.
