Title: Paid Media Speciali
Company: Sports Medicine Australia
Location: Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Paid Media Specialist
Casual, Part-Time/contract. Approximately 0.3 FTE of a $70 – 90K base salary plus super, with the opportunity to be flexible around your other commitments, and to grow over time.
A brilliant role for someone looking for work several days a week while balancing another commitment.
Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) is looking for a performance-driven Paid Media Specialist to own and optimise our paid digital marketing activity across our national portfolio of education and training programs.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being deep in the platforms, building and refining campaigns, while also bringing clear insights, recommendations, and commercial thinking to the table. You’ll manage always-on paid channels, support national campaign rollouts, and help identify growth opportunities through smart digital marketing.
You'll report to the GM of Education and Training and work closely with the Head of Marketing. However, you will be the digital domain specialist, so this role is best suited to someone who can drive best practice.
About SMA
Sports Medicine Australia is the peak national body for sports medicine and sports injury prevention. We work with health professionals, sporting organisations, educators, and government to improve the safety and well-being of people participating in sport and physical activity. We also make a significant contribution to grassroots sports clubs.
Our education and training programs are delivered nationally and support thousands of Australians every year, including allied health students, coaches, volunteers, and practitioners. SMA plays a critical role in reducing preventable injuries and supporting better health outcomes across the country.
The Role
The Paid Media Specialist is part of the Education and Training arm and reports to the General Manager, Education. This is an execution-focused role responsible for managing always-on paid marketing activity, supporting national campaign rollouts, and delivering performance insights and recommendations to drive growth in course enrolments and program engagement.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders across marketing, education, and design to ensure paid activity is effective, aligned with SMA brand and purpose, and continuously optimised for ROI.
Primary platforms are Meta and Google PPC, though we expect this to change over time.
This is a role with real ownership and visibility, where your work directly contributes, and you engage daily with SMA leadership.
About You
You are a proactive, performance-driven marketer who is comfortable being hands-on in paid media platforms, and equally confident analysing results and recommending improvements.
You understand that performance marketing is not just about clicks, it’s about outcomes: conversions, enrolments, cost efficiency, and continuous optimisation.
This is a great role for someone with 2+ years experience either in house or agency roles.
You might have:
- An analytical, commercial mindset and ability to interpret performance data clearly
- A test-and-learn approach and curiosity for optimisation
- Confidence in communicating insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders
- A collaborative approach, working effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Strong organisation and attention to detail across multiple priorities
Things you'll be doing:
- Manage and optimise always-on paid digital advertising across SMA programs and campaigns
- Build and optimise Meta Ads campaigns; oversee Google Ads performance (including working with external partners where applicable)
- Monitor performance, manage campaign budgets, and ensure effective pacing and ROI
- Produce monthly and quarterly paid media performance reports with clear insights and actionable recommendations
- Partner with marketing and design stakeholders to test, optimise and refresh creative (including video content)
- Identify digital growth opportunities and recommend improvements across channels, audiences, targeting, and formats
- Support campaign delivery aligned to SMA’s education calendar and national program priorities
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in paid digital or performance marketing
- Hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns across Meta (required)
- Understanding of Google Ads (required)
- Strong understanding of performance marketing, optimisation and reporting
- Experience using Google Analytics and ad platform reporting tools
- Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations
- Australian working rights required
At SMA, you’ll be part of an organisation with national reach and genuine impact. Our work supports safer participation in sport and physical activity, strengthens community capability, and contributes to better health outcomes across Australia.
You’ll join a team that values practical thinking, continuous improvement, and delivering results that matter.
