Job Summary

Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Measure vital signs, record medical histories, and assist with patient assessments to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist physicians during orthopedic examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, X-ray assistance, medication administration, and wound care under physician supervision.
- Manage medical documentation meticulously, including updating patient records, ICD coding for diagnoses, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support administrative functions by scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and coordinating follow-up care to optimize clinic workflow.
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient care activities, including hospital medicine or emergency medicine scenarios when needed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to orthopedics and general medicine.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems for accurate documentation and management of medical records.
- Skilled in patient service delivery with excellent communication skills to educate patients about procedures and post-care instructions.
- Familiarity with medical assisting techniques including intake procedures, vital signs collection, ICD coding, and basic life support (BLS).
- Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Experience with X-ray operation or assistance is highly desirable for supporting diagnostic imaging needs in orthopedic care.

Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour
