This is a full-time Advanced Practice Provider position embedded within an orthopaedic surgery practice in Geneva, NY, serving the Finger Lakes region. The role supports experienced orthopaedic surgeons across outpatient clinic and surgical settings, managing a patient population with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. The position is open to both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with relevant clinical experience.

Compensation
$115,000 to $135,000 per year, with performance incentives. Sign-on bonus available. Student loan repayment support offered.

What You’ll Do

You will conduct comprehensive patient evaluations for individuals presenting with acute injuries and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in coordination with the attending orthopaedic surgeons. Patient volume and case mix span fracture care, joint pathology, soft tissue injuries, and post-operative recovery across both new and established patients.

Surgical involvement is part of the role. You will assist in orthopaedic procedures as applicable and provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound assessment, medication management, and return-to-activity planning. Ordering and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory results is a routine part of clinical decision-making in this setting.

Procedural competency is expected. You will perform joint injections, splinting, and casting independently, and will educate patients on recovery protocols, injury prevention strategies, and long-term musculoskeletal health. Accurate and timely clinical documentation is required across all patient encounters.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current New York State licensure as an NP or PA
• National certification (NCCPA for PAs; ANCC or AANP for NPs)
• DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain prior to start
• Ability to assist in surgical procedures and provide perioperative care
• Proficiency with clinical documentation in an electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in orthopaedics, sports medicine, or a related musculoskeletal specialty
• Experience with fracture care and musculoskeletal imaging interpretation
• Familiarity with joint injection techniques, splinting, and casting
• Experience in a high-volume outpatient or surgical assist setting
