Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Optional Gymnastics Coach to inspire and guide Optional gymnasts in developing/mastwring their gymnastics skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster confidence, coordination, and physical fitness through engaging coaching. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong background and knowledge in USAG Levels 7-10 and elite gymnastics. As an integral part of our dynamic community, you will create a positive environment that encourages growth, safety, and fun for every athlete.
Duties
- Lead gymnastics training sessions tailored to various skill levels, ensuring all participants are engaged and motivated
- Demonstrate proper techniques for gymnastics routines, and other physical activities with safety and skill mastery as a priority
- Develop customized lesson plans that promote skill progression and physical development
- Monitor participants’ performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance their abilities
- Enforce safety guidelines and behavior management policies to maintain a secure and respectful environment
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to organize events, competitions, or special training workshops
- Maintain equipment safety checks and ensure the cleanliness of the gym or training area
Requirements
- Experience coaching USAG Levels 7-10
- USAG/Safesport certified
- Pass Background Check
- Strong background working with children or students from all backgrounds
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster positive discipline during practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire participants of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Certifications in sports coaching, first aid, or CPR are preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in activities such aa conditioning, basics, proper progressions, and individualized routines and pathways for higher level competitive gymnasts.
- Ability to stand and be hands on for 4-5 hour shifts
- Strong spotting skills on all 4 apparatus. Ensuring safety, trust between coach/athlete and skill progression.
