Title: Occupational Therapist / OT
Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital is a new 124-bed acute-care hospital – with room to grow to 240 beds, located in Seminole County, Florida. The facility offers a full complement of services, including inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation services, cardiovascular care, including 3 cath labs, emergency care, general surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics, childbirth, postpartum care, and a future NICU.

ABOUT OUR IP & OP REHAB DEPARTMENT:
- We offer rehabilitation services serving a full spectrum of short-term and long-term rehabilitation needs – from hip fracture, joint replacement and sports medicine programs to stroke, traumatic brain injury cardiac surgery and oncology/lymphedema rehabilitation.
- Our programs encompass both inpatient and outpatient care
- The inpatient Acute Care Therapy offers unit-based specialized therapists for Oncology/Lymphedema, Neurological Conditions, Stroke, Orthopedics, Limb Loss, Multiple Traumas, and more!
- Outpatient services are treated at our outpatient clinic located in Longwood, FL
Responsibilities:
Position Summary
Treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities to develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
- Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
- Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as delineated in the departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.
- Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate, and prepares written documentation as required by the department, and the care team.
- Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy.
- Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.
- Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.
- Provides patient/family education as indicated.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in occupational therapy.
Licensure/Certification
- Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida-temporary permit acceptable.
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience
- Open to newly licensed or tenured OT’s
