Michigan Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (MOR) is a leading outpatient rehabilitation practice committed to delivering exceptional, evidence-based orthopedic and hand therapy. Our specialties include orthopedic physical and occupational therapy, hand therapy, sports medicine, and Pilates.

Our Troy and Royal Oak locations are well-established and continue to experience steady growth. We are seeking a motivated, growth-oriented Occupational Therapist to primarily support our Troy clinic while providing secondary coverage and program support in Royal Oak.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist with strong orthopedic and upper extremity experience who is eager to build and grow a thriving hand therapy program.

The primary caseload and referral development efforts will be based in Troy, with periodic support in Royal Oak to maintain continuity of care and strengthen system-wide growth initiatives.

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation is highly preferred. Candidates actively pursuing CHT certification are encouraged to apply.

You will have the autonomy to treat at a high level, strengthen physician partnerships, and play a meaningful role in expanding MOR’s presence within both medical communities.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Excellence

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational and hand therapy interventions
  • Fabricate and modify custom orthoses as appropriate
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
  • Provide exceptional patient education and outcomes-focused care

Practice Growth & Referral Development

  • Lead referral development efforts for the Troy location
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with local physicians, orthopedic surgeons, and referral sources
  • Serve as a clinical ambassador for MOR within the Troy medical community
  • Support relationship-building and program growth initiatives in Royal Oak
  • Participate in physician meetings, outreach efforts, and community events
  • Contribute ideas and strategic initiatives to expand and elevate the hand therapy program

Professional Development

  • Stay current with best practices and continuing education
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current Michigan OT license (or eligibility)
  • Orthopedic and upper extremity experience required
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred, not required
  • Strong manual therapy and clinical reasoning skills
  • Confident, professional presence when interacting with physicians
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in referral development
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage a primary clinic presence with flexible secondary support
  • Commitment to delivering measurable, high-quality patient outcomes

Pay: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
