Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our football program at Oakville Middle School/High School for the 2026/2027 season. The Head Football Coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring a competitive and educational football experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the game, and a commitment to the personal growth of each player.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive football program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Plan and conduct all practices, games, and team meetings, ensuring a structured and effective training environment.
  • Recruit, train, and manage assistant coaches and support staff to enhance the overall program.
  • Monitor the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes, promoting a balance between athletics and academics.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with players, parents, school administration, and the community.
  • Organize and oversee team fundraising activities, events, and community service initiatives.
  • Enforce all school and district policies, as well as rules set forth by the league and governing bodies.
  • Analyze game performance and develop strategies for improvement, adapting coaching methods as necessary.
  • Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with coaching techniques, rules, and best practices.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and games.

Requirements

  • Previous experience coaching football at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of football strategies, rules, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to perform at their best.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse team environment.
  • Must pass background checks as required by school district policies.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during the football season.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
