Our Ninja Program combines elements of gymnastics, parkour, obstacle course training, agility, strength, and athletic development to create an exciting experience for children of all skill levels.

We are seeking an energetic, positive, and safety-focused Ninja Program Instructor to lead classes and help athletes develop strength, coordination, confidence, and a love for movement.

Position Summary

The Ninja Program Instructor is responsible for planning and leading ninja classes, obstacle courses, camps, and special events. This role focuses on teaching athletic fundamentals while creating a fun, engaging, and safe environment where athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, has a high-energy personality, and can motivate athletes while maintaining structure and safety.

Key ResponsibilitiesClass Instruction

  • Lead Ninja classes for athletes ages 3–18.
  • Teach obstacle course skills, agility, balance, climbing, jumping, swinging, crawling, and strength development.
  • Introduce age-appropriate athletic challenges and progressions.
  • Adapt instruction for athletes of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that keep athletes active and motivated.

Athlete Development

  • Help athletes improve:

  • Celebrate athlete progress and accomplishments.

Safety & Risk Management

  • Maintain a safe training environment at all times.
  • Monitor athletes closely during obstacle activities.
  • Enforce safety rules and gym policies.
  • Inspect equipment and obstacles before classes.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and injuries.

Program Growth & Engagement

  • Help create exciting obstacle course challenges and themed events.
  • Assist with camps, clinics, birthday parties, and special programs.
  • Encourage athlete retention through positive relationships and engagement.
  • Promote a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

Parent Communication

  • Provide positive feedback regarding athlete progress.
  • Communicate professionally with parents and families.
  • Represent Northstar Athletics in a positive and professional manner.

Facility Support

  • Assist with obstacle setup and breakdown.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of training areas.
  • Ensure equipment is properly stored and maintained.

QualificationsRequired

  • Experience working with children in a coaching, teaching, fitness, camp, or youth program setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage groups of children.
  • Positive attitude and high-energy personality.
  • Ability to demonstrate athletic movements safely.
  • Availability during evenings and weekends.

Preferred

  • Background in gymnastics, parkour, ninja, cheerleading, martial arts, fitness training, or youth sports.
  • Previous coaching or instructor experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience leading camps or youth activities.

Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive Pay

$15–$18+ per hour based on experience and qualifications.
