Spark Athletics is a growing youth cheer, tumbling, and ninja program serving families throughout Walnut Creek and Lamorinda. We bring high-energy, confidence-building programs directly to local schools, parks and recreation departments, and community partners.
We’re looking for an organized, energetic leader who loves working with kids and wants to play a key role in helping our programs grow.
Position Summary
The Mobile Programs Lead is responsible for running Spark’s off-site programs throughout the community. This role combines coaching, transportation, operations, staff leadership, event management, and community outreach.
The ideal candidate is dependable, mature, highly organized, and confident leading both children and staff. They are a natural relationship builder who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and helping grow a business that makes a positive impact on kids and families.
ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership
- Lead engaging tumbling, cheer, ninja, and youth fitness classes for children ages 2–14
- Create a fun, safe, and positive learning environment
- Deliver Spark curriculum with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, school staff, and community partners
- Represent Spark Athletics positively at all program locations
Mobile Operations
- Drive the Spark Athletics equipment van to schools, parks, and community sites
- Load, unload, transport, and organize program equipment
- Set up and break down equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and vehicle cleanliness
- Ensure programs start on time and operate smoothly
Staff Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and support assistant coaches and youth staff
- Delegate responsibilities and provide direction during programs and events
- Model professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic
- Ensure staff follow safety procedures, curriculum standards, and company expectations
Birthday Parties & Special Events
- Lead Spark Athletics birthday parties and special events
- Coordinate event setup, activities, and breakdown
- Create an exceptional experience for children and families
- Manage event staff if needed, and ensure smooth execution
- Support camps, clinics, showcases, and community events
Community Partnerships & Program Growth
- Help expand Spark Athletics programs into additional schools, community organizations, and recreation departments
- Build and maintain positive relationships with school administrators, program coordinators, and community partners
- Represent Spark Athletics at outreach and community events
- Identify opportunities to increase enrollment and expand program offerings
- Serve as an ambassador for the Spark Athletics brand throughout the community
- Share ideas and feedback to help improve programs and support business growth
Administrative Support
- Track attendance and participation
- Communicate operational needs, equipment concerns, and staffing issues
- Assist with scheduling and program logistics
- Complete basic administrative tasks related to mobile programs
QualificationsRequired
- Experience working with children in sports, education, recreation, camps, or youth programs
- Tumbling, gymnastics, cheer, dance, ninja, or related coaching experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Background check and fingerprinting required
- Ability to be added to Spark Athletics commercial auto insurance policy
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
Preferred
- Experience leading teams, supervising staff, or mentoring younger employees
- Experience with after-school enrichment programs
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working independently in fast-paced environments
- Existing relationships within local schools or youth organizations

Schedule
- Primarily weekday afternoons and evenings
- Some morning preschool and enrichment programs
- Occasional weekends for birthday parties, camps, clinics, and special events
- Approximately 15 hours per week initially, with growth opportunities
Compensation
- $20-28 per hour, depending on experience
- Paid training
- Opportunity for increased hours and advancement as Spark Athletics grows
Pay: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour
