Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated educators to fill multiple teaching vacancies across middle and high school levels (Grades 5-12). Some positions are full time, but the majority are either Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday teaching. These dynamic roles offer the opportunity to inspire scholars, foster a love of learning, and contribute to a vibrant academic community. Candidates will engage with diverse scholar populations, implement innovative curricula, and support students’ academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards across various subjects. Biblical integration is required in all subjects.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance scholar understanding and participation.
- Design assessments, administer standardized testing, and analyze results to inform instruction.
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to support students’ educational journeys and personal development.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and classroom management techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school initiatives.
- Support scholars with special education needs or those requiring additional literacy or childhood development assistance.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices, including MLA style, and others methods associated with BJU Press curriculum.
- Implement and adhere to the academy’s No Excuses Model.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Prior classroom experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of core subjects, religion/theology, technology, and electives. Ability to teach dual credit courses is a plus.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and digital tools for teaching and assessment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective public speaking, parent engagement, and team collaboration.
- Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities; private school and public school experience is advantageous.
- Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, copy editing, and behavior management.
