PURPOSE STATEMENT
This position will set up, manage and supervise middle school athletic programs and events at Pioneer Middle School.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Promote the philosophies, values and beliefs of the Walla Walla School District athletic program.
- Schedule all athletic events, working with the District AD to coordinate Middle school and High School schedules to facilitate facility usage and transportation.
- Work with the District AD and building principal to develop and implement a system for purchasing and maintaining athletic equipment, supplies and uniforms.
- Work with building coaches to ensure that all of them meet district coaching requirements and provide this information to the district athletic office.
- Work with District AD, building principal and plant facilities to maintain, develop and monitor safe, attractive and adequate game and practice facilities.
- Work with District AD to develop and implement an effecient and accurate registration system.
- Work with District AD to hire, assign and supervise coaches.
- Work with building administration to ensure supervision of all home events.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
District Athletic Director, Building Principal, and Human Resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience as a coach/school athletics administrator
- Demonstrated knowledge of current coaching strategies, techniques, rules, and regulations
- Current CPR card and either a First Aid card or documentation or equivalent sports medicine training
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model
- Ability to communicate and work with students/athletes, parents, staff and community in an effective and positive manner
- Evidence of outstanding organizational skills
Licenses/Special Requirements.
- Completed Employment Application/ Background Check.
