Overview
The Sports Leadership Arts and Management (SLAM) is a public charter school network focused on academics, leadership, and real-world career pathways. SLAM Tampa Middle/High is committed to providing a high-quality, student-centered education where students are challenged, supported, and inspired daily.
We are seeking passionate, motivated educators to join our growing middle/high school team.
We are currently hiring for the following subject areas:
- English Language Arts (6–12)
- Mathematics (6–12)
- Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, etc.)
- Electives (TV Production, Business, Leadership, etc.)
- ESE (Exceptional Student Education)
Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned to Florida BEST Standards
- Maintain a structured, bell-to-bell instructional environment
- Utilize data to drive instruction, including assessments and progress monitoring tools
- Maintain accurate lesson plans and gradebooks
- Implement engaging instructional strategies that promote student participation
- Establish strong classroom management and clear expectations
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Participate in PLCs, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
- Support school culture, events, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate or eligibility for certification
- ESOL Endorsement (required or willingness to obtain)
- Reading Endorsement (preferred for applicable subjects)
- Strong classroom management and instructional delivery skills
- Commitment to student achievement and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching in middle or high school settings
- Experience with state testing (FAST, EOCs, etc.)
- Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring
- Ability to teach advanced coursework (Honors, AICE, Dual Enrollment)
- Coaching or extracurricular experience
