Mid-Level Manager – Sports Cards & Collectibles
Job Title: Operations & Community Manager – Sports Cards, Collectibles & Live Selling
Location: Grove City, OH
Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 annually (based on experience)
Reports To: Director of Operations / VP
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced manager to help oversee day-to-day operations within a fast-growing sports card and collectibles business. This role is ideal for someone who understands the hobby, has experience with sports cards, Pokémon, live breaking, and customer engagement, and can effectively lead a team while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
The ideal candidate combines strong organizational skills with deep hobby knowledge and understands what collectors, breakers, and customers expect from a premium collectibles experience.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support a team of breakers, customer service representatives, shipping staff, and inventory personnel.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Create and maintain schedules to ensure adequate coverage for live streams, fulfillment, and customer support.
Breaking & Live Stream Operations
- Oversee daily break schedules and ensure all breaks run smoothly and professionally.
- Support breakers with product knowledge, customer interaction, and stream quality.
- Monitor break performance and recommend improvements to increase engagement and sales.
- Help develop creative break formats, promotions, and community-building initiatives.
Pokémon & Trading Card Expertise
- Maintain knowledge of current Pokémon, sports card, and trading card market trends.
- Assist with product selection, pricing, and release planning.
- Evaluate collections and inventory opportunities when needed.
- Provide guidance to staff and customers regarding products, sets, and market trends.
Operations & Inventory
- Ensure accurate inventory management across Shopify, eBay, Whatnot, and other sales channels.
- Work closely with fulfillment teams to maintain shipping accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in developing and improving operational procedures and workflows.
- Monitor product availability and coordinate restocks.
Customer Experience
- Help resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Foster a positive collector community across social media, live streams, and online platforms.
- Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction and brand reputation.
Business Growth
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue, customer retention, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with ownership on new product offerings, events, and promotional strategies.
- Analyze sales trends and provide recommendations for future growth.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–5 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of sports cards and the collectibles industry.
- Working knowledge of Pokémon products, releases, and collector trends.
- Experience participating in or managing live card breaks.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred
- Experience with Shopify, eBay, Whatnot, Fanatics Live, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of grading companies such as PSA, BGS, and CGC.
- Experience managing inventory systems and fulfillment operations.
- Knowledge of sealed products, singles, grading submissions, and market pricing.
