Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional Medical Clinic Front Desk Professional to join our team at a growing private outpatient Sports Medicine clinic. This role involves working closely with a board-certified Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician, an Athletic Trainer, and other staff to provide exceptional care to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a direct specialty care clinical environment. As the first point of contact for patients, a positive helpful attitude, flexibility, professionalism, being dependable and on time are required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Interaction: Greet patients, answer phones, and respond to emails in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
2. Appointment Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, manage cancellations, collect charges, manage patient accounts when applicable, and assist with appointment reminders, ensuring smooth workflow in the clinic.
3. Administrative Support: Perform a variety of general office tasks, such as data entry, managing patient information, and preparing documentation related to patient care.
4. Specialty Knowledge: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the clinic’s specialty services and care model, providing patients with relevant information and documentation as needed.
5. Confidentiality: Handle confidential medical information with care, ensuring patient privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations at all times.
6. Multitasking: Assist with various administrative and clinical support tasks as needed, adapting to the dynamic nature of the medical office environment.
Qualifications:
Experience:
A MINIMUM of one year of experience working in a medical office. Prior experience in a medical office setting is mandatory.
Education:
1. Minimum- High school diploma or GED
Preferred- Associate’s degree in business administration or similar concentration, Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence (PACE) or Certified Administrative Professional (CAP)
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff in person, on the phone, and by email.
3. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously.
4. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
5. Friendly, professional demeanor with a focus on providing exceptional customer service consistent with the organization’s mission and core values.
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
7. Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, and other software platforms to maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with patients, and support our professional brand presence.
