Role Description The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Sports Administration at GIS is a remote, academically rigorous program designed for individuals aiming to lead and manage within the global sports sector. Day-to-day activities include participating in interactive online lectures and seminars, completing readings and case studies focused on sports management and business strategy, and engaging in group projects with peers from diverse international backgrounds. Learners will analyze real-world sports business scenarios, develop strategic plans for clubs and organizations, and apply financial and analytical tools to sports industry problems. The role also involves regular communication with faculty, attendance at virtual workshops or guest lectures from industry experts, and the completion of assessments such as reports, presentations, and research projects that build practical leadership and administration skills in sports.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Business Administration and Business Management, with an interest in applying these skills to the sports industry.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret data, evaluate business performance, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating in virtual teams, presenting ideas, and engaging with industry professionals.
- Understanding of Finance principles relevant to budgeting, revenue generation, and financial planning within sports organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, sports management, or a related field, or relevant professional experience in sports or business.
- Ability to work independently in a remote learning environment, manage time effectively, and balance academic commitments with other responsibilities.
- Demonstrated interest in the global sports industry and motivation to pursue leadership or strategic roles within sports organizations.
- Comfort with online learning technologies and digital collaboration tools; prior experience with virtual or blended study is beneficial.
