Martial Arts Instructor/Coach Jobs in New York at El Dojo NYC
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Martial Arts Instructor to support class delivery across our kids and adult programs. You will work directly alongside our lead instructor to maintain a high-quality, safe, and structured learning environment. This is a teaching role — not a competition or fighting role. Our ideal candidate is patient, professional, and genuinely skilled at working with kids.
Responsibilities
– Assist in delivering engaging martial arts classes for students of varying ages and skill levels
– Support the lead instructor in maintaining class structure, safety, and energy
– Provide individual attention and feedback to students during training
– Help track student progress and communicate effectively
– Assist with school events, parents night out, belt testing, and student milestone activities
– Uphold El Dojo NYC’s values of respect, discipline, and growth at all times
Requirements
– Minimum 2 years of experience teaching or assisting martial arts classes in a structured school or program setting
– Demonstrated experience working with and teaching children (ages 3–17 preferred)
– Proficiency in at least one martial arts discipline; multi-style experience is a plus
– Strong communication and classroom management skills
– Reliable, punctual, and professional
– Must be available weekday afternoons, evenings, weekends
– Background check required

This is not a fighter or competitor role. We are not looking for someone focused on sport fighting, MMA competition, or aggressive training styles. We want an educator and a team player first.

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
