Our client, a premier nonprofit cultural institution in New York City, is seeking a Manager, Audience Development & Membership. This is a highly visible role within a collaborative four-person team and is ideal for someone who enjoys driving engagement, growing memberships, and building audiences for one of New York City's premier nonprofit cultural institutions. The organization has been around for over 50 years and regularly hosts well-known speakers, exclusive screenings, exhibitions, and high-profile events.
Responsibilities
- Drive daily museum attendance to meet overall visitor goals
- Increase attendance across programs, including Family Days, screenings, gaming tournaments, and special events
- Develop and execute audience growth strategies across onsite, digital, email, and social media channels
- Partner with the Development team to attract new members and increase member engagement
- Lead targeted outreach efforts focused on media, entertainment, sports, gaming, and technology communities
- Collaborate with Social Media, Creative Services, and Development teams on promotions and membership campaigns
- Support invitation-only events, exhibition previews, receptions, fundraising galas, and other member experiences
- Represent the organization as a brand ambassador during events and across public channels
- Assist with the creation of brochures, newsletters, invitations, and other membership communications
- Track campaign performance and provide reporting on audience growth and engagement metrics
- .Participate in additional projects as assigned
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of audience development, membership, marketing, or relationship management experience
- Prior experience within a nonprofit, museum, cultural institution, or similar organization strongly preferer
- Strong understanding of the media, entertainment, sports, gaming, or technology industries
- Excellent communication, writing, and project management skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working onsite five days per wee
- Bachelor's degree required
- Spanish language skills are a plus
