We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager, Social Impact reporting to the Director, Brand & Community to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Manager, Social Impact will support the Director, Brand & Community with the development and execution of the Toronto Tempo’s purpose-driven social impact strategy. This role will define how the Tempo contributes to improving girls’ and women’s health and wellbeing across Canada through mental, physical, and social initiatives with long-term outcomes. The Manager, Social Impact will bring a mix of strategic thinking, purpose-driven partnership development, and impact measurement to build a platform that connects the team’s values to tangible change. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the social legacy of Canada’s first WNBA team and set a new standard for how professional sport can drive equity and belonging across the country and beyond.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead Social Impact Strategy Development

  • Develop and evolve the team’s long-term social impact framework and roadmap.
  • Define focus areas, goals, and measurable outcomes aligned with organizational and league-wide priorities.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure social impact initiatives are integrated into broader brand, marketing, and community plans.
  • Ensure all programs authentically represent the voices and experiences of the communities the Tempo serve.

Develop Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify, engage, and support on building partnerships with nonprofits, foundations, brands, and community organizations that align with the team’s social impact mission.
  • Collaborate with the Tempo Partnerships team to build purpose-led campaigns with commercial partners that deliver shared value and measurable impact within the Tempo’s social impact strategy.
  • Work with agency and community partners to co-design programs, activations, and storytelling moments that amplify impact.
  • Develop partnership frameworks to evaluate and communicate results internally and externally.

Program Design & Implementation

  • Support on the design and execution of scalable national programs, advocacy campaigns, and social investment initiatives that advance the Tempo’s social impact purpose.
  • Collaborate with the Community Relations team to align local activations and player engagement with broader strategic goals at a grassroots level.
  • Partner with Brand, Content, and Social teams to tell powerful stories that inspire fan and partner participation.
  • Build internal toolkits and processes to support consistent, values-driven program delivery.

Research, Measurement & Reporting

  • Conduct research and landscape scans to identify opportunities, gaps, and emerging trends related to women’s sport, health, and equity.
  • Support on the development of annual social impact reporting, capturing outcomes, learnings, and community stories.
  • Connect internal and agency teams to align data collection, storytelling, and measurement efforts.
  • Establish systems to track progress and ensure accountability to stakeholders, partners, and fans.

Advocacy & Thought Leadership

  • Represent the Tempo in cross-sector forums, conferences, and working groups focused on gender equity and social impact through sport.
  • Support leadership and communications teams in shaping advocacy narratives and positioning the Tempo as a national voice in purpose-driven outcomes for girls and women through sport.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with WNBA-wide and community-based initiatives that elevate women’s basketball and its social impact.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in social impact strategy, corporate social responsibility, community investment, or purpose-driven brand work required.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing measurable social impact programs or partnerships.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of partners, from nonprofits to corporate sponsors to internal creative teams.
  • Strong understanding of gender equity, sport for development, and/or women’s health research.
  • Passion for women’s sport and belief in its power to drive social change considered an asset.

The salary range for the Manager, Partnerships role is between $85,000 – $95,000 CAD annually based on candidate skillsets.
