Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Iowa-licensed orthopedic surgeons for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity at a Level 3 trauma center serving a regional community. This role involves performing total joint replacements, trauma care, fracture management, and outpatient surgical procedures, with inpatient rounding and consult duties, primarily Monday through Friday with 24-hour call coverage.

Opportunity Highlights

• Orthopedic surgery locum tenens position in Mason City, Iowa
• Ongoing coverage with specific December dates (December 23–28) and beyond
• Surgical procedures including total hip, knee, shoulder, hand, wrist, ankle, and foot surgeries
• Trauma injuries and fracture care
• Inpatient rounding and ED consults
• 24-hour call coverage with follow-up clinics
• Epic EMR system in a Level 3 trauma hospital serving 16 counties with a population of over 200,000

Schedule Details

• Clinic days: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Call coverage: 24 hours, with follow-up clinics
• Coverage dates: December 23–28, ongoing as needed

Clinical Scope

• Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Hand, wrist, ankle, and foot procedures

• Sports medicine consultations

Requirements

• Active Iowa medical license
• MD degree
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Relevant clinical experience in orthopedic procedures
• Multi-site coverage as operationally required
