Leadership and Growth Coach, Alpha – $150,000/year USD Jobs in San Francisco, CA at Crossover

Title: Leadership and Growth Coach, Alpha – $150,000/year USD

Company: Crossover

Location: San Francisco, CA

You understand that the most compassionate act is to maintain the highest standards for every student. Your background includes competitive or professional achievement in domains few ever reach: elite-level athletics, graduation with distinction from a top-tier institution, selection into a highly competitive firm, or a venture you founded and grew. Now imagine channeling that intensity into supporting K-12 students who have never encountered anyone like you—someone who will hold them to expectations they never imagined meeting. If setting elite standards feels unkind, this role is not for you.

Alpha leverages AI-powered 1-on-1 learning to enable students to complete core academics in approximately two hours daily. The remainder of their time is devoted to life skills, passion-driven projects, and meaningful development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They require a credible mentor whose personal track record sets the bar: someone capable of assessing the environment, establishing expectations, and coaching through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty.

You won't be teaching. AI manages instructional delivery. Your role is to motivate, coach, and hold students to the exacting standards you've maintained for yourself. Forty percent of your time is spent in direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions that identify obstacles and establish ambitious targets. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement. The final twenty percent is dedicated to launching each day with focused kickoffs that cultivate a culture where mediocrity is unacceptable.

This trajectory emphasizes depth over hierarchy. You begin by mastering Alpha's framework and earning student trust. Within months, you become the person they rely on to push them beyond self-imposed limits. The reward is not advancement. It's continuity: the same students, year after year, maturing with your consistent support. It's witnessing a student who avoided eye contact in September confidently address a room of adults in May.

This position remains student-centered. Students are the purpose, not a pathway to something else. If you're leaving your current role for the mission rather than the credential, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify obstacles, establish ambitious targets, and ensure accountability for execution
  • Facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery by drawing on credible examples from your own elite background, then evaluating mastery via Alpha's Test2Pass system
  • Establishing the campus cultural standard each morning through focused kickoffs that reinforce expectations for high performance
  • Monitoring student progress in real time and refining coaching approaches based on data rather than intuition
  • Cultivating trusted mentor relationships with students and families by maintaining high standards, consistency, and documented motivation strategies

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lessons, creating curriculum, or grading student work — Alpha's AI-powered academic platform manages instruction; your focus is motivation
  • Addressing a classroom of 30 students (your work centers on high-touch coaching in small groups, not large-scale instruction)
  • Supervising other staff or advancing through an administrative structure (this role prioritizes direct student impact over organizational advancement)
  • Attending faculty meetings or managing institutional bureaucracy (your time remains concentrated on students)
  • Reducing standards to achieve targets (if a student reaches 99%, your task is to uncover what prevented 100%)
