Position: Lead Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) NF- 02
Summary
Lead lifeguard position located at Fort Benning Aquatics Facilities, part of Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation. Oversees indoor and outdoor pool safety and operations.
Major Duties
- Serve as lead lifeguard under the Installation Aquatics Program Manager.
- Perform lifeguarding duties and limited management functions.
- Ensure safe operation of pool, filtration system, water balance, and pool chemistry, performing water tests.
- Provide maximum surveillance of pool area; rescue swimmers and administer first aid as required.
- Attend aquatics and safety training as directed; adhere to Installation Customer Service standards.
- Keep accurate records, reports, and maintain adequate supplies.
- Teach aquatic swimming and water survival training per TC 21-21; assist with Shallow Water Egress Training (SWET) if equipment available.
- Lead work of other employees; pass instructions from supervisor to staff and start work.
- Distribute and balance workload to ensure each employee has sufficient tasks.
